Students tour Homeplace on Green River By George Kolbenschlag Homeplace on Green River hosted about 40 Campbellsville 5th graders for a day on the farm Monday, May 16. The students went on a guided nature hike in the woods, learned about various environmental issues, took a hay ride and completed a "Quest" hike where they learned about barn owls and the history of Homeplace. This was the second outing at Homeplace for Taylor County students this month. The first, for Kentucky Christian Academy students, was Friday, May 13, and included a program on various Kentucky animals conducted by Campbellsville University's Clay Hill Memorial Forest. Both were funded by a grant from the Taylor County Health Department through the Taylor County Wellness Coalition. The visits fit well with Homeplace on Green River's role as Kentucky's Outdoor Classroom. This story was posted on 2016-05-20 09:37:14
