Edna Emmaleen Allen passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 in Casey County, Kentucky. She was 80 years old.

Funeral services are 12pmCT/1pmET, Monday, May 9, 2016 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Cameron Cain officiating. Burial will follow in Whited Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 4pm-8pmCT/5pm-9pmET, at the funeral home and will continue Monday from 7amCT/8amET until funeral service.



Edna Emmaleen Allen, 80, Casey County, KY (1936-2016)


Born February 29, 1936 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late John Gilbert Atwood and Ether Grant Atwood. She died Thursday, May 5, 2016, in Casey County, KY, at theage of 80 years, two months and six days.

She was retired from Fruit of the Loom and a member of Noel's Chapel Church of God. She sat with the elderly in recent years.

Survivors include:
  • Three sons: Stephen (and Darlene) Allen of Liberty, KY; Donald Allen of Cincinnati, OH; and Timothy (and Carol) Allen of Oklahoma City, OK

  • Five daughters: Kathy Allen of Liberty, KY; Karen Sanders of Cincinnati, OH; Sharon (and Phillip) Foley of Liberty, KY; Paula Garmany of Cincinnati, OH, and Cheryl Payne of Liberty, KY

  • Thirteen grandchildren

  • Thirty great-grandchildren

  • A brother: Clifton (and Ruth) Atwood of Indianapolis, IN

  • A sister: Barbara Grzanke of Cincinnati, OH
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Johnnie "Charles" Atwood and Clyde Atwood; and a sister, Wanda Luttrell.
