King and Depiaggio earn Player of the Week honors

Lindsey Wilson Senior Jessica King is the Mid-South Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

The Worcestor Township, Pennsylvania, native won her doubles and singles match against No. 16 Cumberland (Tenn.) in the MSC Tournament finals last week.


At No. 2 doubles, she won 8-1 with teammate Fiona Curty to give the Blue Raiders a 3-0 lead after doubles action.

In her singles match, she won in straight sets without dropping a game as she won 6-0, 6-0 to help third-ranked Lindsey Wilson to a 6-1 victory.

King is now 14-5 in singles play this season and 19-3 in doubles action.

Lindsey Wilson improves to 18-4 on the year.

The weekly honor is King's first of the season and second of her career. She becomes the fourth different Blue Raider to earn the conference honor this year.

Depiaggio earns Mid-South Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors

Tomas Depiaggio is the Mid-South Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

The freshman from Corrientes, Argentina, won both his singles and doubles match against Cumberlands (Ky.) in the MSC Tournament finals last week.

At the No. 3 doubles position, he and his teammate, Javier Raya, won 8-6 to give the Blue Raiders a 2-1 advantage after doubles play.

Depiaggio then won in straight sets at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-0, to help Lindsey Wilson to a 5-1 victory in the MSC Championship match.

He is now 12-2 in singles matches and 8-9 in doubles play.

With the 5-1 victory last Monday, the Blue Raiders are now 15-3 on the season.

Depiaggio earns his first weekly honor of the season and of his career. He becomes the fourth different Blue Raider to earn the award this year.
