Ruth L. Moore, 82, Adair County, KY (1933-2016)

Ruth was a member of Hadley's Community Church. She was retired from Western Electric in Chicago, IL. She was a native of Adair County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Gilliam & Alice Bragg Loy, and the widow of Bobby G. Moore. She leaves one direct living descendant, a daughter,m Claudia (Dean) Froedge, Columbia, KY

Ruth L. Moore age 82 years of Columbia, KY passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016 at 11:06pmCT at TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Elbert Hadley the officiating clergy. Interment in Loy Cemetery at Fairplay Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Friday, May 6, 2016 at the funeral home.



Pallbearers: Darrell Loy, Casey Loy, Johnny Carter, Isaac Carter, Tony Coomer and Jeff Johnson.

Ruth L. Moore, 82, Adair County, KY (1933-2016)

She was born on October 31, 1933, in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Gilliam & Alice Bragg Loy. She died Sunday, May 1, 2016, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 82 years, five months, and 1 day.

She was the widow of Bobby G. Moore, who preceded her in death on July 18, 2007.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Ronald Lee Loy on Dec. 23, 2006, and one brother Young Loy.

She is survived by:
  • One daughter: Claudia (Dean) Froedge of Columbia, KY

  • Daughter-in-law: Deborah Loy of Burbank, IL

  • One brother: Russell Loy of Fairplay, KY

  • Five sisters: Almarine Morgan of Columbia, KY; Flora Claywell of Columbia, KY; Emily (Travis) Gravitt of Chicago, IL' Earline (Thomas) Hill of Riceville, TN; and Virginia Ann (Harold Dean) Nix of Bridgeview, IL

  • One sister-in-law: Mildred Loy of Fairplay, KY

  • Several nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends
Ruth was a member of Hadley's Community Church & was retired from Western Electric in Chicago, IL.
