Mrs. Geneva Joyce Akin, Metcalfe Co., KY (1945-2016) 
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She was also a former machine operator for Sumitomo and was a farmer. She was the matriarch of a large, respected family with strong family ties in Metcalfe, Adair, and Green Counties and elsewhere. She was a native of Green County, KY, and a resident of Metcalfe County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Lucian Simpson and Alice Gardner Simpson. She leaves nine direct living descendants. The funeral services for Geneva Joyce Akin will be conducted at 2pmCT, Monday, May 2, 2016 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Judd Cemetery. Les Milby will officiate. Visitation is requested 4pm-8pmCT, Sunday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Monday until time of the funeral service. Pallbearers: Doug Beard, Jason Beard, Joshua Warf, Caleb Bagby, Riley Pegram, and Chris Whitaker.
