CHS fishing team places at regional competition

Campbellsville High School fishing team competed in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association bass fishing tournament on Saturday, April 23, at Lake Cumberland.

Ninety-two boats competed at the tournament.

In all, the CHS team caught six fish.

CHS seniors Caden Wheatley and Andy Sabo placed 24th of the 92 boats.



Kendon Young, a senior, and sophomore Bryce Richardson placed 55th and sophomore Connor Wilson and freshman Noah Riley placed 66th.

CHS competes in the third region, which also includes Barren, Boyle, Jackson, Lincoln, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Taylor and Wayne counties, South Laurel, Southwestern, North Laurel, Lynn Camp, Knox Central and Corbin.

Jeff Richardson is the fishing coach.

The team will compete again on Saturday, May 7, at the Kentucky Bass Nation tournament at Lake Cumberland.
