Denis Porcic earns MSC Men's Tennis Player of the Week By Charlie Balcom Denis Porcic has been selected as the Mid-South Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday. In his lone appearance against No. 18 Campbellsville (Ky.) in the semifinals of the MSC Championships, the sophomore picked up victories at the No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles positions. Porcic - who is ranked 24th in the ITA poll - defeated No. 17-ranked Valdyslav Ladygin in straight sets 6-1, 6-2, at the top singles flight. At doubles No. 1, Porcic and teammate Raul Mendez won 8-6 over Campbellsville's top-seeded doubles team. Porcic is 11-1 in singles matches and 10-3 in doubles play. With the 5-0 victory on Sunday, the Blue Raiders are now 14-3 on the season. Porcic earns his second weekly honor of the season and fourth of his career. This story was posted on 2016-04-26 07:56:30
