BOWLING GREEN, KY (Mon 25 Apr 2016) - Lindsey Wilson swept its third straight opponent in the Mid-South Conference Women's Tennis Tournament today, beating Cumberland (TN) 6-0 en route to winning the title at Kereiakes Park.

The top-seeded Blue Raiders (18-4) claim their 12th consecutive Mid-South Tournament crown with the win. Lindsey Wilson did not drop a match, out-pointing the opposition 16-0 during the three-day tournament.

Lindsey Wilson earns the Mid-South's automatic bid into the NAIA National Tournament next month in Mobile, AL.

Lindsey Wilson captured the first point of the championship thanks to No. 24-ranked Jessica King and Fiona Curty in the second-seeded match. The Blue Raider pair won the first seven games of its match with Trinidad Aguirre and Jasmine Shankar en route to an 8-1 win.

King and Curty have won 12 straight doubles matches. They are 18-3 as a team this season.

Maria Prados Cid and Alex Shchipakina remained unbeaten in doubles with an 8-4 win over Franki Jecker and Sarah Edwards in the third-seeded match. The pair posted two breaks in the match to improve to 15-0.

The final doubles point came in the top-seeded match.

In a battle of top-10 NAIA doubles teams, eighth-ranked Henar Munoz and Natalia Kattah bested seventh-ranked Angelica Sepulveda and Tarsha de Souza 8-6 to give the Blue Raiders the doubles sweep.

After exchanging early breaks, Munoz and Kattah broke for the second time in the match to give Lindsey Wilson a 6-5 lead. The two teams held serve the rest of the way, giving the Blue Raiders the win.

Munoz and Kattah -- who are 14-2 this season -- improve to 2-0 this season against Sepulveda and de Souza. The Blue Raider duo won 9-7 on March 25 in Columbia.

While the Blue Raiders met some resistance in the doubles, it was all Lindsey Wilson in singles play. All six Blue Raiders won their opening sets.

King posted the first singles win with a 6-0, 6-0 result over Aguirre in the third singles match. King improves to 14-5 on the season with win, including eight straight victories.

Needing just one point to claim the title, Shchipakina and Curty finished nearly simultaneously to give the Blue Raiders the 6-0 win.

Shchipakina moved to 13-1 on the season with a 6-1, 6-2 win over de Souza in the second-seed match. Curty won her 12th straight singles match after posting a 6-1, 6-2 win over Edwards in the sixth-seeded match. Curty is now 15-4 in singles this season.

Prados Cid and Kattah were each within a game of posting a win when their match was halted. Monoz and Sepulveda -- the MSC Women's Tennis Player of the Year -- were on serve in the second set with the team match ended

. The NAIA National Tournament field will be released on May 9, with the tournament bracket released on May 10. The national tournament begins on May 17 at the Mobile Tennis Center.
