Jessie Parnell, 90, Adair County, KY (1926-2016)

She worked in the CVS Pharmacy for years after retiring from General Electric. Jessie was a member of Parkland Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 50 years. She was a loving mom, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She was a native Columbia, KY, and a resident of Louisville, KY, at the time of her death. She was a member of a large, highly regarded South Adair County, KY, family. She was the daughter of the late Robert Ezra and Zoradah Curry (Roach). She leaves eighteen direct living descendants.

Jessie Parnell, 90, of Louisville, KY, passed away Thursday April 21, 2016.

A Celebration of Jessie’s Life will be Monday, April 25, 2016 at 11amCT/12pmNoonCT, in Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Rd., with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2pm-7pmCT/3pm-8pmET, Sunday, April 24, 2016, at the funeral home and Monday from 9amCT/10amET until the time of service.

She was born February 9, 1926 in Columbia, Kentucky to the late Robert Ezra and Zoradah Curry (Roach). She died Thursday, April 21, 2016, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 90 years, two months, and 12 days.

She worked in the CVS Pharmacy for years after retiring from General Electric. Jessie was a member of Parkland Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 50 years. She was a loving mom, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.

She will be missed by many.

Left to cherish her memory are:
  • Her children: Monica Meredith (Keith), Clinton (Eula), Denny (Dianne), Bradley (Amy)

  • Six grandchildren

  • Eight great grandchildren

  • Her siblings: Betty, Fannie, Finnis, Carl and Calvin
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings; Robert Curry, Carol Strange, Maurice Curry, and Maze Curry.
