LWC Baseball starts 5-game road trip against Taylor today By Charlie Balcom The 25th-ranked Lindsey Wilson baseball team starts their five-game road stretch to close out the regular season against Taylor (IN), 236 W Reade Ave, Upland, IN (campus, not venue), Tuesday, Apr 19, 2016. First pitch is slated for 4pmCT. The Blue Raiders are 32-17 on the season and they have won four straight and six of their last seven games coming into the contest on Tuesday. Edgar Lebron leads Lindsey Wilson with a .364 batting average, 59 hits, 49 runs, and 19 stolen bases. Aaron Ashton is second on the team with a .327 batting average 53 hits, while posting a team-high 47 RBIs. The Blue Raider pitching staff has compiled a 4.26 ERA and 275 strikeouts. Scott Sebald, Daniel Ferrell and Tyler Russell each have six wins on the season, while James Doubet leads the team with seven saves - which is 12th most in the NAIA. Taylor enters the matchup on Tuesday with a record of 28-12 and they lead the Crossroads League with a conference record of 11-3. Nathan Targgart leads the team with a .372 batting average and 48 hits. Nick Hollowell has posted a team-high seven home runs and 40 RBIs. The Trojans have posted a team ERA of 3.55, while allowing opponents to hit .250 at the plate. Earlier this season Lindsey Wilson and Taylor split a doubleheader at Egnew Park.
