Fatal collision on Interstate 65 in Hardin Co., KY - 18 Apr 2016

Passenger in single vehicle accident pronounced dead at the scene. Driver taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY, with non-life threatening injuries

GLENDALE, KY - (Mon 18 Apr 2016) - The Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement responded to a single vehicle fatal collision that happened today at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Interstate 65 at the 87mm southbound.



The preliminary investigation indicated that 62-year-old Gloria Grado of Lebanon, TN was operating a 2015 Toyota traveling south on I-65 when she dropped off the shoulder of the road. Grado attempted to regain control of the vehicle but collided with the end of the guardrail. The vehicle overturned struck the guardrail another time before coming to a stop in the southbound lane.

A passenger 63-year-old Benjamin Grado of Lebanon, TN was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner's Office. Gloria Grado was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by the Hardin County EMS with non-life threatening injuries.

Officer Tyler Lynch is investigating the collision and was assisted on scene by Sr. Officer Derek Cundiff, Sr. Officer Jason Morris, the Central Hardin Fire, Glendale Fire and Hardin County EMS.
