LWC Men's & Women's golf compete today in MSC championships Play begins at 8amCT this morning, Mon 18 Apr 2016 Click on headline for complete story By David Gerhart COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson men's and women's golf teams start their postseason schedule as they compete at the Mid-South Conference Championships, Monday through Wednesday at the Bowling Green Country Club, 251 Beech Bend Road, Bowling Green, KY 42101. Action starts at 8amCT, today. The last competition for both the men's and women's teams was at the Mid-South Conference Spring Tournament two weeks ago. The men's team finished in second place out of nine teams, while the women finished in third out of nine teams. Earlier this season at the Bowling Green Preview Tournament at the Bowling Green Country Club, the Lindsey Wilson men's team won the event, which was shortened to one round, with a score of 292. Jonathon Grabara won the event with a 3-under par 69. The women's team for Lindsey Wilson finished in third place with a score of 335 at the Bowling Green Preview. Cristina Jimenez finished in fifth place with a 6-over par 78. Cumberlands (KY) won both the men's and women's regular season conference championships. The women's team for the Patriots won both fall and spring conference events. The Cumberlands men's team finished second at the fall even, but won the spring event. After Cumberland (Tenn.) finished third at the spring competition, the Patriots were able to capture the MSC title. At the MSC Championships last season, the Lindsey Wilson men's team won the event by 15 strokes to punch their ticket to the national tournament. On the women's side, the Blue Raiders finished in fifth place out of seven teams, while Cumberlands won the championships.
