LWC Women's Tennis completes perfect sweep at St. Catharine By Charles Balcom ST. CATHARINE, KY (Sat 9 Apr 2016)- The Lindsey Wilson women's tennis team did not drop a single point in the Blue Raiders' 9-0 victory on Saturday en route to their fifth-straight win. The third-ranked Blue Raiders (12-4, 4-0 Mid-South Conference) collected three perfect 8-0 sweeps in doubles play before six-consecutive 6-0, 6-0, sweeps in singles play to complete the perfect day over the Patriots (2-9, 1-5 MSC). Lindsey Wilson improves to 10-0 against NAIA competition this season. Maria Prados Cid and Alex Shchipakina started things off with a clean sweep at the No. 3 doubles flight over Brooke Sauer and Deeanna Sparks for the opening point of the day. Jessica King and Fiona Curty followed shortly after with their victory at the No. 2 doubles flight over Anna Stewart and Erin Pigman before Natalia Kattah and Henar Munoz completed the doubles sweep at the top position over Sofia Esteban and Iris Porras. The momentum continued for Lindsey Wilson into singles play as they blanked their counterparts at every position. Five Blue Raiders completed a 2-0 day with doubles and singles victories apart from Kattah, who was replaced by Gabriella Pedroza in the singles lineup. Pedroza also won her singles match 6-0, 6-0.
