Ernest Ray Keith age 97 of Edmonton, KY, passed away Friday, April 08, 2016 at NHC Healthcare in Glasgow.

Funeral services will be held 2pmCT, Sunday at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Nichols Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9:30amCT, Sunday at the funeral home.



Ernest Ray Keith, 97, Metcalfe Co., KY (1918-2016)


He was born November 6, 1918. He was the son of the late James Madison Keith and Lillie James Nichols Keith. He died Friday, April 8, 2016, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 97 years, five months, and two days.

He was a farmer and member of the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. Ray was a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by:
  • One sister: Elsie Mae Knight of Edmonton, KY

  • Two nieces: Sharon Long of Edmonton, KY, and Kathy Profitt of Eddyville, KY

  • One nephew: Randy Keith of Louisville, KY

  • Three great nephews; Bobby Vibbert, Jr of Edmonton, KY; and Kyle and Cody Proffitt of Eddyville, KY

  • One great neice: Caitlyn Proffitt of Eddyville, KY

  • Two great great nephews: Triston Lee Proffitt of Eddyville, KY; and Benton Lee Vibbert of Edmonton
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Phillip Edward Keith and a brother in law Junior Knight.
