Death & fire investigation underway by KSP at 496 Watson St.

Body discovered several hours after fire had been subdued when "the owner of that residence went back into the burnt structure and located the body . . . body was sent for autopsy and identification by the Kentucky State Medical Examiner's Office." Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY

COLUMBIA, KY - On Sunday April 3, 2016 at approximately 12pmNoonCT, Post 15 Columbia was contacted in reference to a body that had been located in the ruins of a town house located at 496 Watson Street, Columbia, KY.



Units from the Adair County & Columbia Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle fire on April 2, 2016, at the above address.

It wasn't until approximately 12pmNoonCT, on April 3, 2016, the owner of that residence went back into the burnt structure and located the body.

The body was sent for autopsy and identification by the Kentucky State Medical Examiner's Office.

The investigation is ongoing by detectives from Post 15 . Post 15 units were assisted at the scene by Adair County Sheriff's Department, Columbia Police Department, Adair County Coroner's Office and Adair County & Columbia Fire Department.
