LWC's Mendez is NAIA National Mens Tennis Player of the Week

COLUMBIA, KY (Wed 30 Mar 2016) - Raul Mendez has been selected as the NAIA National Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the national office announced on Wednesday.

It marks the first time in Mendez's career he has earned the national weekly award. He was selected based on his performances from March 21-27 and was chosen out of a pool of conference, Association of Independent Institutions, and unaffiliated group winners.




He posted a perfect 6-0 record last week, winning three singles and three doubles matches, while helping Lindsey Wilson to three wins, all against ranked opponents.

Mendez did not drop a single set in singles play, dropping just 10 total games in his three matches.

Earlier this week, Mendez was also named the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week for the third time in his career. from Lindsey Wilson College
