LWC adds Jessica MacDonald to 2016-17 Swimming roster By Charlie Balcom The Lindsey Wilson women's swimming program has added Jessica MacDonald for the upcoming 2016-17 season, head coach Alicia Kemnitz announced on Thursday. MacDonald comes to Lindsey Wilson from Durban, South Africa, where she attended high school at Durban Girls' College. At Durban, MacDonald broke the school records in both backstroke and individual medley events. She also earned medalist honors in her age group at nationals in both the 200-meter freestyle and 200-meter individual medley events. MacDonald even qualified for the "A" finals in the 100-meter freestyle, 200-meter freestyle and 50-meter butterfly events at the South African International Grand Prix. "She is an incredible swimmer with great credentials and an impressive training history," Kemnitz said. That impressive training history comes from her involvement with her club team, Seagulls Swimming Club, where she has worked with Olympic coach Graham Hill and Olympic gold medalist Chad le Clos. "She should immediately make an impact on our team and has the ability to compete for a national title in multiple events," Kemnitz said. This story was posted on 2016-03-30 10:43:24
