Dii'jon Allen-Jordan and Sekou Harris are All-Americans By Jordan Alves CU sports information director Kansas City, MO - Campbellsville's Dii'jon Allen-Jordan and Sekou Harris were both selected as NAIA and NCCAA All-Americans, officials announced on Thursday afternoon. The duo from Plainfield, N.J. was also named to the NAIA All-Tournament team after leading the Tigers to the Fab Four for the second time in program history. Allen-Jordan picked up the honor for three different associations. He was named Third-Team NAIA All-American, Second-Team Sporting News All-American and First-Team NCCAA All-American. He was also named the NCCAA Mid-East Region Player of the Year along with head coach Keith Adkins who was named the Coach of the Year. Harris earned All-American honors at the NAIA and NCCAA levels. He was named Third-Team NCCAA All-American and Honorable Mention for the NAIA. "Dii'jon and Sekou are both deserving of All-American honors," said Adkins. "They both had excellent regular seasons and phenomenal postseasons. The run we made at the end of the season into the national tournament would not have been possible without either of them. I am happy for both of them to enjoy as much success in their one season with us." Allen-Jordan led the Tigers in scoring and rebounding, averaging 17.3 points and grabbing 9.5 boards per game. He finished the season with 16 double-doubles - which tied him with NAIA Player of the Year Deondre McWhorter for the Mid-South Conference lead and also tied for fifth in the country. He finished ranked No. 3 in the NAIA in total rebounds (343), No. 6 in blocks (69), No. 12 in steals (61), and No. 17 in field goal percentage (54.1%). During the national tournament, Allen-Jordan averaged 18.2 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Harris was also a key component for CU this season. Playing in 1,245 of the possible 1,440 minutes of CU's 36-game season, Harris scored 16.2 points per game while also dishing out a team-high five assists per contest. He finished the season ranked No. 7 in assists (179), No. 13 in assists per game (5) and No. 22 in points (583). During the national tournament, Harris led CU by averaging 20.7 points and dishing out 5.5 assists per game. Campbellsville's March Madness run ended in the Fab Four of the NAIA National Tournament. The Tigers fell to Mid-America Christian 93-89 in the semifinals to end the season with a 25-11 record. This story was posted on 2016-03-24 15:58:22
