CU Men's Basketball fights way into Fab Four Campbellsville men's basketball rolls past Carroll College to move into NAIA Fab Four Next: Campbellsville vs. Mid-America Christian Monday, March 21 at 6pmCT/7pmET, at the Kansas City Convention Center, 301 W 13th St, Kansas City, MO. By Lindey Young KANSAS CITY, MO - Carroll College was no match for the fast-paced Tigers, as CU rolled through the Fighting Saints, 83-67 in the NAIA Quarterfinals on Saturday night, March 19, 2016. Campbellsville forced 14 turnovers, nine in the first half, converting 15 points. The Tigers also outrebounded the Fighting Saints - who lead the country in total defensive rebounds - 37-29, scoring 20 points off second chances, compared to their five. CU is headed to their first Fab Four since 2008 -- which was longest tournament run in CU men's basketball history to date. For it being the Tigers' third game in three days, CU shot the ball extremely well. Going 30-of-65 (46 percent) from the field while recording four 3s in each half, tallying 8-of-24 for 33 percent. Campbellsville also shot 93 percent from the charity strip --15-of-16. Mid-South Conference Freshman of the Year, Hagan Tyler, lit up the nets hitting five 3-point field goals (5-of-8) for his best long-range performance since recording six 3s against Shawnee State on January, 28, 2016. Tyler finished with 21 points, two rebounds and a steal. In the opening minutes the Tigers and Fighting Saints battled. It wasn't until the 10-minute mark when CU made their presence known going on a 13-0 run. Carroll faced a double-digits deficit for the last 10 minutes of the half. The Tigers went into halftime up 14 points to the team that defeated one of the No. 1 seeds the night before. In the first half, Rob Robinson went 3-of-3 from behind the 3-point line while the Fighting Saints tried to match the Tigers by going 6-of-10. Campbellsville extended its lead to 19 after a 10-0 run to start the second half. The Tigers held Carroll scoreless until the 15:22 mark. The largest lead of the game came when Dii'jon Allen-Jordan made 2-of-2 free throws, pushing the Tigers ahead 81-53 with four minutes left to play. Allen-Jordan recorded his 15th double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, adding two steals and an assist. He was also perfect from the free-throw line, 6-of-6. Sekou Harris and Tyler were also perfect, 4-of-4 and 2-of-2, respectively. Harris and Ron Scott dished out six assists apiece, totaling 12 of the 14 team assists. Harris documented 16 points while Scott added 13 with five rebounds. Robinson was the other Tiger to score double-digits with 11 pints and six rebounds.
