LWC women's basketball to face No. 2 Westmont in NAIA By David Gerhart The 18th-ranked Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team continues their NAIA National Championship run on Friday night as they face second-ranked Westmont (CA) in the second round of the national tournament at 8pmCT, March 18, 2016, Silverstein Eye Centers Arena 19100 E Valley View Pkwy, Independence, MO. The Blue Raiders won their fourth game all-time in the NAIA National Championships on Thursday evening as they defeated No. 15 Talladega (AL), 69-67. This is the Blue Raiders 11th national tournament appearance in program history and they are 4-10 all-time in the tournament. Chanel Roberts has led Lindsey Wilson this season averaging 13.9 points per game, while Teanna Curry has chipped in with 10.6 points per game. Kayla Styles has averaged 14.3 points over her first 10 games in a Blue Raider uniform, while she grabs an average of 8.8 rebounds a game. Roberts has pace Lindsey Wilson on the glass this season with 5.9 boards per game. Westmont defeated Huston-Tilloston (TX) in their first round matchup of the tournament, 82-47. The Warriors are 29-3 on the season and they are riding at 12-game winning streak into the contest on Friday. Leading Westmont this season has been Aysia Shellmire with 14.2 points per game, while Krissy Karr and Lauren McCoy are the final two Warriors to average double figures this season with 13.2 and 11.4 points a game this season. The Blue Raiders and Warriors have met just once prior to their matchup on Friday.
