Lindsey Wilson Men's Golf tied for sixth at Skyhawk By Charles Balcom PINE MOUNTAIN, GA - The Lindsey Wilson men's golf team currently sits in a tie for sixth place following the opening round of the Skyhawk Invitational hosted by Point (GA) on Monday, March 14, 2016. The Blue Raiders carded a 21-over 309 at the 7,057-yard, par-72 Callaway Gardens Mountain View Course. Lindsey Wilson is just 11 strokes behind tournament leader Point in the 17-team field. Chris Butler carded the lowest Blue Raider round of the day as he shot a 3-over par 75 and sits in a tie for 10th place, five strokes behind the tournament leader. Federico Navarro is one stroke behind Butler after carding a 4-over 76. Navarro is in a nine-way tie for 15th place. Ryan Nowe carded 6-over par 78 and is tied for 34th in the 94-man field. Alex Durham is tied for 46th after his opening round 80 and Jonathon Grabara completes the five-man team with a 10-over par 82 in a tie for 59th. Zach Madewell, who is competing as an individual at the event, carded a 6-over 78 and is tied for 34th. St. Andrews's (NC) Daniel Wieck leads the field with a 2-under par 70 following the first round. Point leads the team standings after a 10-over 298, two strokes ahead of second place Reinhardt (GA).
