She was a native of Liberty, KY, and a resident of Yosemite, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Earl "Fritz" and Pauline Watson Salyers. Her husband, David Phelps, survives. She leaves six direct living descendants to carry on her legacy.

Elaine Phelps, age 64, of Yosemite, KY, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held at 12pmCT/1pmET, Saturday March 12, 2016 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY 49, Liberty, KY. Bro. Johnny Maupin and Bro. Lloyd Hopper officiating. Burial will be in the Willow Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Friday March 11, 2016

She was born in Liberty, Casey County, KY on August 27, 1951. She was the daughter of the late Earl "Fritz" and Pauline Watson Salyers. She died Tuesday, March 8, 2016, Yosemite, Casey County, KY, at the age of 64 years, six months, and 10 days.

Elaine was an employee of Lake Cumberland Headstart Liberty, KY.

Survivors include her spouse, David Phelps, and the following:
  • One daughter: Sharon and (Greg) Wethington of Liberty, KY

  • One son: Shannon Phelps of Yosemite, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Ryan and (Brittney) Wethington, Shanna Phelps and Matthew Wethington

  • One great-grandchild, Blakely Wethington

  • Three sisters, Sandra Wesley of Middleburg, KY; Cynthia Salyers of Yosemite, KY; and and Barbara and (Dale) Wilkinson of Hustonville, KY

  • One brother: J.A. Salyers of Yosemite, KY
Preceding her in death besides her parents were two grandchildren, Whitney Wethington and Davy Phelps; and two sisters, Dixie and Debbie Salyers.
