Lindsey Wilson jumps to third -- after sitting in fourth place following the fall season -- after posing a pair of top-10 finishes at NAIA national championships this winter. The final winter standings -- which will include men's and women's basketball -- will be released on March 24. The Lindsey Wilson women's swimming earned 72 points after finishing sixth at the NAIA National Championships, while the men's swimming team garnered 66 points for Lindsey Wilson after posting an eighth-place finish at nationals. The wrestling team finished in 12th place at nationals to earn 64.5 points, while the men's track and field team was the final Blue Raider team to grab point in the first winter standings as they earned 34 points with a 20th-place finish at the NAIA National Championships. Biola (Calif.) leads the standings with 507 points and Wayland Baptist (Texas) sits in second place with 465 points. Seven other Mid-South Conference teams are also mention in the latest edition of the standings. Campbellsville (Ky.) is 11th with 294 points, Cumberlands (Ky.) is 25th with 200.5 points, Life (Ga.) is 44th with 135.5 points, Cumberland (Tenn.) is 79th with 75.5 points, Georgetown (Ky.) is 82nd with 73 points, Shawnee State (Ohio) is 85th overall with 64.5 points and St. Catharine (Ky.) rounds out the MSC as they are 115th with 43 points. With the conclusion of men's and women's swimming, men's and women's track and field and wrestling, five of the nine winter NAIA championships have been completed. The NAIA Division I and II Men's and Women's Basketball National Championships are the only remaining championships to be played. The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between NACDA and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 12 sports -- six women's and six men's. The final NAIA winter standings will be released Thursday, March 24. This story was posted on 2016-03-10 14:47:35
