McKenley Johnson, 79, Burkesville, KY (1936-2016)

He was a member of the Albany Full Gospel Church and a farmer. He was the patriarch of a highly regarded family and the son of the late Willie Frank and Lottie Ann Key Johnson. His wife, Thelma West Johnson, survives. He leaves 12 direct living descendants.

McKenley Johnson age 79 of Burkesville, KY passed away on Thursday, March 03, 2016 at Cumberland County Hospital, Burkesville.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 05, 2016 at 1pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Guthrie Chapel Cemetery. The family requests visitation after 1pmCT, on Friday, March 04, 2016 at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.


McKenley Johnson, 79, Burkesville, KY (1936-2016)


McKenley Johnson was born in Cumberland County, KY on December 14, 1936. He was the son of the late Willie Frank and Lottie Ann Key Johnson. He died Thursday, March 03, 2016, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 79 years, two months, and 18 days.

He was a member of Albany Full Gospel Church and a farmer.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Ann Johnson, and four brothers, Hall Johnson, Paul Johnson, Willie Johnson, and Bobby Johnson.

Survivors include:
  • His wife, Thelma West Johnson of Burkesville, KY

  • Three sons, Gary (and Patricia)Johnson, Larry (and Betsy)Johnson, and Ray Johnson all of Burkesville, KY

  • Six grandchildren, Haley (and Pat Smith) Johnson, Kimberly (and Bryant) Johnson, Larry "Bubby" Johnson, Timothy (and Shawnda)Johnson, Dalton Johnson, Aaron Johnson

  • Two great grandchildren, Milas Smith and Tailee Johnson

  • One special grandchild, Skylar Kern

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
