ACPC/LWC partner in student-designed literacy learning

By Dana Harmon, 21st CCLC Director ACPC

On Thursday, February 26, 2016, students in Mrs. Jennifer Antoniotti's reading education class from Lindsey Wilson College brought a Reading Afternoon to students at Adair County Primary Centers after school program, Camp Casey, 158 Col. Casey Drive, Columbia. This well attended event was open to all students and families from ACPC.

Students and families greatly enjoyed being read a story and using LWC student-designed literacy learning centers to experience the wonder of reading and literacy. Groups of students rotated among each center, learning as they went.

For several years now, we have had the benefit of students from LWC coming into our school and partnering in the education of our younger students. A partnership that not only benefits our students, but helps our future educators gain valuable experience working with children. Many thanks to LWC and all they do for our community!!
