ACES takes top honors at 206 District Governor's Cup

ACES makes future of Tradition of Excellence Adair County A-Teams look Brighter. Both Adair County Elementary School Quick Recall and Future Problem Solving teams advance to Regional Governor's Cup competition as District Champions.

News from Adair County Elementary School

Congratulations to the Adair County Elementary Academic Team and Coaches Jeana Pike and Lisa Newell-Hare as they were named the 2016 District Elementary Governor's Cup Champions on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Metcalfe Elementary School in Edmonton, KY.

ACES brought home top honors because both the Future Problem Solving Team and the Quick Recall Team came in 1st place along with several students placing in individual written assessments. Here are the results -


  • 1st Place- District Overall- Everyone
  • 1st Place - Future Problem Solving - Official Team: Briley Burns, Elizabeth Smith, Madeline Hardwick, and Collin Pike
  • 1st Place - Quick Recall - Official Team: Gracelynn Akin, Briley Burns, Alannah Bowman, and Jacob Polston
  • Math - 2nd Place-Kami Pike. 3rd Place-Grant Feese
  • Language Arts - 3rd Place-Brody Blair, 5th Place-Madison Irvin
  • Science - 2nd Place-Alannah Bowman, 4th Place-Michael Cook, 5th Place-Angelina Firkins
  • Social Studies - 1st Place-Jacob Polston, 4th Place-Jonathan Gold Arts/Humanities - 1st Place-Leah Dykes, 3rd Place-Luke Rich
  • Composition - 1st Place-Gracelynn Akin, 3rd Place-Jessica Hamlett, 4th Place-Briley Burns.
These students will advance to Regional Governor's Cup Competition which will be held at Green County Intermediate School on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 for FPS and Composition, and again on Saturday, March 12, 2016 for Quick Recall and other Individual Written Assessments. Good job and Good Luck to the ACES Academic Team and Coaches Pike and Newell-Hare as you advance to Regional Governor 's Cup Competition. We are so proud of you! We are ACES!!!
