By TFC Billy Gregory, Public Affairs Officer
Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY

EDMONTON, KY – Tpr. Jonathan Paull is investigating a collision that occurred Saturday, February 27, 2016 at approximately 3:39pmCT, at the intersection of KY 163 and KY 90. 27-year-old Inderpal Gill, of Manitoba, Canada, was operating a northbound 2013 Kensworth on KY 163 when he ran a stop sign at the intersection of KY 90.

The Kensworth crossed into the path of an eastbound 1997 Chevy on KY 90, operated by 55-year-old Vanessa Jessie, of Glasgow, KY. The Chevy struck the trailer. Jessie, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Metcalfe County Coroner.

The Kensworth left the scene of the collision and was later found on US 31 at Veterans Loop in Glasgow by the Glasgow Police Department. Gill was arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident and lodged in the Barren County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
Issuance of warrants and/or arrests are not findings of guilt. An individual charged by police or in a warrant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.
