LWC Women's Basketball faces Cumberland in MSC Tournament The Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders vs. Cumberland (TN) at the Frankfort Convention Center, 405 Mero Street, Frankfort, KY at 3pmCT/4pmET, Thu 3 Mar 2016 in the opening round of the Mid South Conference Tournament By Charles Balcom COLUMBIA, KY – The 2016 Mid-South Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament bracket was released by conference officials on Saturday night, February 27, 2016 following the conclusion of the regular season finales around the league. Lindsey Wilson is the No. 3 seed and will face sixth-seeded Cumberland (TN) on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 3pmCT/4pmET, Thu 3 Mar 2016 in the opening round of the Mid South Conference Tournament at the Frankfort Convention Center, 405 Mero Street, Frankfort, KY. The winner advances to the semifinals to face the winner of second-seeded Campbellsville (KY) and seventh-seeded Cumberlands (KY) on Saturday. Other matchups in the opening round include No. 1 seed and regular-season champion Shawnee State (Ohio) taking on eighth-seeded St. Catharine (KY) and fourth-seeded Georgetown (KY) facing off against fifth-seeded Pikeville (KY). After Campbellsville and Lindsey Wilson finished with identical conference records, a tiebreaker was used to determine the higher seed. The two teams split during the regular season, but Campbellsville earned the No. 2 seed based on the Tigers splitting the season series with top-seeded Shawnee State. The Bears swept Lindsey Wilson during the year. During the regular season, Lindsey Wilson swept Cumberland in the two meetings, winning 57-55 in Columbia and 63-56 in Lebanon, TN.
