CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY (Mon 22 Feb 2016) - A Taylor County man was arrested Friday, February 19, 2016, at approximately 2:26pmCT on Poe Young Road following a pursuit that began on KY 527. Tpr. Logan Smith observed a Pontiac Grand Am with expired registration plates and an unrestrained passenger. When he attempted to stop the vehicle, the operator fled. The pursuit ended 10 miles west of Campbellsville on Poe Young Road when the Grand Am became stuck in a muddy field. 42-year-old Rodger Cox, of Campbellsville, KY, was arrested and charged with Fleeing or Evading Police 1st, Criminal Mischief 1st, Resisting arrest, Speeding, Failure to Wear Seatbelt, No Registration Plates, Careless Driving, Operating on Suspended License and Improper Passing. Cox was lodged in the Taylor County Jail. 60-year-old Robert Spurling, of Campbellsville, KY, was cited to court for Alcohol Intoxication, Resisting Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance. 54-year-old Robert Hughes, of Campbellsville, was cited to court for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Tpr. Lincoln Lawless assisted. Issuance of warrants and/or arrests are not findings of guilt.
