Shannon Sexton: Clearing up misinformation

(Chair of PAC provides link to the source: The Alchoholic Beverage Commission website's License Lookup Portal . When several searches were made on the site, CM researchers were able to fine two licenses, one for a trucking firm in Ella, the other for one in Montpelier, KY, for licenses as transporters of alcoholic beverages. If readers fine others we'd like to know. - EW)

Personal commentary

Quite a bit of misinformation is floating around out in the community. We are trying to dispel rumors as they come. It seems like a full time job. It is our intentions to be transparent and forthcoming with all information, as we all make better decisions when we are informed.

Today a citizen suggested that all liquor licenses have already been purchased in Adair Co. This is misinformation, as one cannot apply for an Adair Co. liquor license currently because we are DRY. The county must vote to be wet before anyone can apply to the state for a license. I've included the link below to the KY ABC website. Readers can click the link and then choose Adair Co. from the drop down menu. It will show any (or lack of) liquor license issued for our county or other counties. License Lookup Portal
