KSP reports fatality collision in Vine Grove, KY

Tragedy occurred at Deckard School Road & Patriot Parkway

VINE GROVE, KY (Fri 12 Feb 2016) - Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown worked a single fatality collision at the intersection of Patriot Pkwy and Deckard School Rd. on Friday afternoon. On February 12, 2016 at approximately 2:20pmET, William Cundiff (53) and front passenger Louise Cundiff (74) of Cecilia were traveling in a 1986 Ford Crown Victoria northbound on Patriot Parkway (KY 361).

Kalin Sleeper (21) of Vine Grove was operating a 2006 Toyota Camry and was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Deckard School Road and Patriot Parkway.

For unknown reasons he pulled onto northbound Patriot Parkway into the path of the Cundiffs who struck the front right corner of Mr. Sleeper's vehicle. Louise Cundiff was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin Co. Coroner's office. William Cundiff suffered serious but non life threatening injuries and was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital.

Kalin Sleeper suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene and released.

KSP was assisted at the scene by Hardin County EMS, Vine Grove Fire Department, and the State Highway Department. Alcohol is not suspected as a contributing factor. The accident is still under investigation by Trooper Scott Rafferty.
