Doug Bandow to speak at upcoming KHIPP event at CU This guest speaker has been a regular commentator on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox News Channel, and MSNBC. He served as a special assistant to President Ronald Reagan and today is one of the nation's leading conservative and libertarian writers and observers. By Kasey Ricketts, student news writer CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University’s Kentucky Heartland Institute on Public Policy (KHIPP) will present Doug Bandow, a senior fellow at the Cato Institute who specializes in foreign policy and civil liberties, at a KHIPP symposium at 5pmET Tuesday, Feb. 23. The event will take place in the Banquet Hall of the Badgett Academic Support Center, at 110 University Drive, Campbellsville, Ky. This event is open to the public and free of charge. Bandow obtained his bachelor's degree in economics from Florida State University and holds a Juris Doctor from Stanford University. He has written numerous books relating to economics and politics. Bandow also writes regularly for leading publications such as Fortune magazine, National Interest, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Times. He also served as the editor of the political magazine Inquiry. During President Ronald Reagan’s tenure, Bandow worked as a special assistant to the president. Dr. John Chowning, executive assistant to the president of Campbellsville University for government, community and constituent relations, and founder of KHIPP said,"We're honored to once again host Doug Bandow under the auspices of Campbellsville University's Kentucky Heartland Institute on Public Policy.” Bandow has also been a regular commentator on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox News Channel, and MSNBC. “From his days in the White House as an assistant to President Ronald Reagan to his current role as one of the nation's leading conservative and libertarian writers and observers, Doug brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that allows him to provide important commentary on the issues of the day.” Chowning said.
