The Adair County Hospital District, and the Adair County Public Hospital District Boards of Directors, meeting concurrently Mon 8 Feb 2016, voted to authorize CES Neal Goal, Vice Chair David Herbst, and Secretary Brad Keltner to sign documents at TJ Samson Hospital in Glasgow, KY, in a "Dry Closing" for the transfer of the Westlake Regional Hospital to TJ Regional Health, Inc.

At the meeting on Tuesday, at 11amCT, all paper work will be signed for the transfer.

On Wednesday, fund transfers will be made with will effect the first payments under the Chapter 9/Chapter 11 Bankruptcy settlement.

At midnight Wednesday night, the transfer will be effect, and, according to Westlake CEO Neal Gold, Westlake Hospital will become "TJ Health/Columbia."

The documents are lengthy.

Among the most asked questions about the bankruptcy is tax rate that will be continued to pay off hospital debt. According to the bankruptcy debt the rate will be the same as the county is now paying, and will be continued until terms of the settlement are fulfilled.

Another was the employment. Mr. Gold said that some 70 of Westlake's employees have interviewed by TJ Health an that most of them will be employed by TJ Health.

He said that other employees who were not interviewed chose to seek jobs in other healthcare organizations and that most have found new employment.

He said that Mr. Wethington, the CEO of TJ Health, will detail what services will be offered in Columbia.

Mr. James McGhee III, an attorney representing Westlake in the bankruptcy, answered a question from the audience tonight about patient records. He said that TJ Health will act as custodian of the records until patients sign consent forms to be patients of TJ Health, at which time that patient's records would be owned by TJ Health.

Present at the meeting were Chair Richard Grant, and board members Sharon Burton, David Herbst, and Brad Keltner; CEO Neal Gold, Adminstrative Assistant Tanya Grant, CFO David Hayes, Adair County Judge Executive Michael Stephens, Attorney James McGhee III, and representatives of the media.
