Query: Looking for information on Landrum family

Maggie Landrum Murphy was the First Lady of Columbia when her husband, Dr. W.R. Murphy, was Mayor of Columbia

By Andre' Landrum

While going through some of my late mother's files, I found a large brown envelope with a note from Maggie Murphy (wife of Dr. W.R. Murphy of Columbia) to my father Edward Landrum of Lumberton, MS. Mrs. Murphy was a Landrum by birth and apparently had tried to do some kind of history of the Landrum family that she came from, going back into the early 1700's when two Landrum brothers, James and John, came to America from Scotland.

I did a Google search for W.R. Murphy, Columbia, KY and it came back with a copy of your magazine from Jan 12, 2006 where I found mention of "Murph" "Murphy" in an earlier city councilman's comments following the council meeting minutes.

I am looking for any of Mrs. Murphy's children, if any, OR her brother's (last name would be Landrum) or her sister's children that may know anything about the Landrum family history Maggie was working on. Do you have any idea how I can contact any of them?

Thank you,
Andre' Landrum
