Carole Jean Bastin Sims, Casey County, KY (1937-2016)

She was a teacher for the Lincoln County School System having taught in Waynesburg, McKinney, and Kings Mountain and was also a Kentucky Colonel. Carole was of the Christian Church Faith.

Carole Jean Bastin Sims, age 78, of Kings Mountain, KY, passed away on Sunday January 24th, 2016 at the Casey County Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 10amCT/11amET, Thursday January 28, 2016 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY Hwy 49, Liberty, KY. Rev. Jimmy Brown Burial will be in the Middleburg Cemetery. Pallbearers: Tim, Mark, Jeff and Daniel Bastin, Garryd and Rylan Buis. Honorary Pallbearers: Pam Shipp, Angel Stephens, Alexis and Abby Hood, Deidra and Natalie Bastin and Danielle Blakeman.

She was born in Walltown, KY on March 22, 1937 to the late Oliver and Ruby Ware Bastin. She died Sunday, January 24, 2016,at the Casey County Hospital, Liberty, KY at the age of 78 years, 10 months, and two days

Carole was the widow of C.D. Sims Jr.

Carole was a teacher for the Lincoln County School System having taught in Waynesburg, McKinney and Kings Mountain and also a Kentucky Colonel. Carole was of the Christian Church Faith.

Survivors include:
  • One Brother: Harold Wayne and (Suzanne) Bastin of Kings Mountain, KY

  • and one sister-in-law: Nancy Bastin of Liberty, KY
Also preceding her in death besides her parents and spouse was one brother, Wendell Bastin.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials in the form of Gideon Bibles.
