The band of over 1 foot of snow is predicted for just north of the Adair, Casey, Cumberland, Green, Metcalfe, Russell and Taylor County area, but all of seven counties are predicted to get plenty. (Lower yellow and dark blue bands.) - CM

Mike Keltner: Prediction of ice accumulation can be real problem

The National Weather Service graphic for the possibility of ice accumulation puts all of Adair, Russell, Cumberland, Metcalfe, the southern part of Casey, and almost allof Green Counties in the up to 1/4" of ice accumulation band by sometime early Friday, January 22, 2016 morning. That could cause some serious tree and utility line damage.

Mike Keltner, Adair County Emergency Director, wants Adair County area residents to know ahead that just past midnight, tonight, Thursday, January 21, 2016, all of Adair, much of Russell, all of Cumberland, Green, and Metcalfe, and Taylor can expect winter precipitation to start as early as midnight CT/1pmET until 3pmCT/4pmET, during the hours when most are in deep hibernation. - CM
