Juanita White Absher, Adair Co., KY (1936-2016)

She was the matriarch of a highly respected Adair County family. She was a member of Shiloh Christian Church and the Sano Stars Homemakers Club. She worked as a homemaker and was a sewing machine operator at Russell Sportswear. She was a native of Metcalfe County, KY, the daughter of the late Herbert "Buddy" and Pearl Hurt Fudge and a resident of Adair County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the widow of Nolan Ray White. She leaves 10 direct living descendants.

Juanita White Absher, age 79 of Columbia KY passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 7:45amET, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.

Funeral service (updated due to weather) Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 3pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. Clergy officiating, Bro. Terry Shelley & Bro. Norbert Hall. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. The family requests visitation after 9amCT, Sunday, January 25, 2016, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Pallbearers: Asa Lawhorn, Andrew White, Rodger Martin, Joey Trumpis, Austin Fruith and Dave Hand.

Honorary Pallbearers: Jeffery Blake Wight and Kenneth Sexton.

Juanita White Absher, Adair Co., KY (1936-2016)

She was born on June 6, 1936 Edmonton, Metcalfe County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Herbert "Buddy" and Pearl Hurt Fudge. She died Tuesday, January 19, 2016, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 79 years, seven months, and 13 days.

Preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Ray White, June 15, 1980.

Preceded in death by a brother Ronnie Fudge; and two grandsons Levis White Jr. and Jeffrey Lee Claywell.

She is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Loretta Fedash & her husband Richard, of Columbia, KY

  • Two sons: Larry White and wife Terra of Columbia, KY; and Levis Gene White of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Willard Fudge and his wife Nan of Glensfork, KY

  • Four sisters: Susie Beasley and her husband JC of Indianapolis, IN; Joyce Winters of Joliet, IL; Sharon Goulooze and husband Lenny of Seneca, IL; and Barbara Jo Ann Trumpis and husband Pete of Columbia, KY

  • Seven grandchildren: Jennifer Claywell, Jackie Claywell Wright, Candice Hand, Andrew White, Asa Lawhorn, Taylor Lawhorn and Hazel Grace White
Juanita was a member of Shiloh Christian Church and the Sano Stars Homemakers Club. She worked as a homemaker and sewing machine operator at Russell Sportswear.
