LWC Softball opens season at No. 2 in NAIA Preseason Poll by David Gerhart In the NAIA Softball Preseason Top-25 Coaches' Poll, the Lindsey Wilson softball team starts the season ranked No. 2 in the poll, the national office announced on Tuesday. After finishing the 2015 season as the national runner-up with a record of 53-8, the Blue Raiders start the 2016 season ranked second in the NAIA Softball Preseason Coaches' Poll. Lindsey Wilson garnered 482 points in the poll. Campbellsville (Ky.) joins the Blue Raiders in the top-10 of the poll from the Mid-South Conference as they earned 377 voting points, which slots them at No. 8 in the poll. The Tigers finished the 2015 season with a record of 38-11. Leading the preseason ranking is two-time defending national champion, Auburn Montgomery (Ala.). The Warhawks earned all 18 first-place votes and 498 voting points in the poll after they finished the 2015 season with a 46-8 record. Following Lindsey Wilson in the national poll is No. 3 Oregon Tech with 457 points and No. 4 LSU Alexandria (La.). Rounding out the top-five is Central Methodist (Mo.) with 434 voting points.
