GEORGETOWN, KY - The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team picked up their first road win of the season on Saturday evening as the defeated No. 2 Georgetown (KY), 80-77. With the victory on Saturday, head coach Paul Peck earned his 300th victory as the head coach of the Blue Raider men's basketball program.

Hannes Erhardt led Lindsey Wilson (12-6, 4-3 Mid-South Conference) with a career-high 24 points, and he completed his first double-double of the season with 10 rebounds. The remaining four starters for the Blue Raiders each reached double figures as the starting five accounted for all 80 points against the Tigers (16-2, 4-2 MSC).

The game started as a back-and-forth battle with the score being tied six different times over the first 11 minutes of action as neither team could take control of the game. The largest lead from either team over that stretch was four points from Georgetown at the 14:02 mark in the first half.

With the game tied 18-18 with nine minutes to play in the first half, the Tigers started to control the game as they went on 9-3 run to take a 27-21 advantage with 4:40 left in the half. Lindsey Wilson tried to chip away at their deficit, but they only came within four points down the stretch in the first half. The largest lead of the first half for Georgetown came with 1:13 left on the clock as they led 33-25.

The Blue Raiders kept the game within striking distance heading into halftime as the Tiger lead was just 33-27 after the first 20 minutes of play.

Lindsey Wilson shot just 35.3 percent from the floor in the first half, while Georgetown was an even 50 percent shooting.

Erhardt knocked down his first three-pointer of the season to get the Blue Raiders right back into the game to start the second half. Once again, neither team could sustain a long run to create some separation on the scoreboard. Georgetown held the lead throughout the first portion of the second half, but their largest lead was just six points through the first 10 minutes of the period.

Lindsey Wilson pulled within one-point with 10:10 left to play in regulation, after Dmitry Utolin hit a shot from beyond the arc to make it a 50-49 game. A few possessions later, the Blue Raiders grabbed their first lead of the second half after Erhardt made a layup in the paint, but he was unable to knock down the free throw after being fouled as Lindsey Wilson held a 53-52 lead with 8:57 left to play.

The Blue Raider extended their lead to 55-52 at the 7:08 mark of the second half, but the Tigers countered scoring the next five points to regain the lead with 5:46 left to play. A seesaw battle ensued over the final five minutes of regulation as the lead changed hands three more times and was tied four times.

With the game tied at 63 with two minutes to play in regulation, Erhardt scored the next four points of the second half as he gave Lindsey Wilson a 67-63 lead with 1:25 left in the game. After a free throw from Deondre McWhorter and a three-pointer from Noah Cottrill, the Tigers tied the game, 67-67, with 41 seconds left in second half.

Georgetown had an opportunity to win the game on the final possession of the game, but a last second shot for the Tigers fell short to send the game into overtime.

In the overtime period, Charles Sutton got the scoring started with a pair of free throws to give the Blue Raiders an early lead. However, Georgetown scored the next three points to grab a one-point advantage. A quick four-point run from Lindsey Wilson was capped off with a three-pointer from DJ Lambert as the Blue Raiders led 74-70 with 2:04 to play in first overtime. A made free throw from the Tigers made it a one possession game, but Erhardt came up clutch once again for Lindsey Wilson hitting two free throws with 51 seconds on the clock to give the Blue Raiders their largest lead of the game at 76-71.

The Tigers pulled within two points after scoring three points, but Bryan Wallace hit a pair of free throws to make it a two possession game with five seconds to play. Cottrill hit a three-pointer with two seconds left on the clock to pull within one-point, but the Blue Raiders came away with an 80-77 victory after Wallace put the game away with two more free throws.

Lindsey Wilson finished shooting 44.1 percent for the game, while the Tigers were 47.7 percent from the field. Georgetown was just 15-for-28 from the free throw line in the game, while the Blue Raiders made 14-of-18 attempts from the charity stripe.

Coming into the game, the Tigers led NAIA DI in scoring with 103.9 points per game. The Tigers 77 points in the game was their second lowest point total this season, with their lowest point total coming in their only other loss on the season to Shawnee State, where the Tigers were held to just 71 points.BR>
