Head-on collision results in death of Vine Grove, KY woman

For unknown reasons, 2012 Dodge Van crosses centerline, striking 2012 Toyota Passenger car head-on. Accident is still under investigation

Kentucky State Police Post 4, Elizabethtown, KY

RADCLIFF, KY (Thu 14 Jan 2016) - Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown worked a fatal collision on KY 313 on Thursday morning.

On January 14, 2016 at approximately 7:15amET, Christopher Simpson (41) of Vine Grove was traveling North on KY 313 (Joe Prather Highway) at the Hardin/Meade Co. line in a 2012 Dodge Van.



For unknown reasons he lost control of his vehicle causing it cross the center line into the southbound lanes.

Melissa Cunningham (51) of Vine Grove was traveling south on Ky. 313 in a 2012 Toyota passenger car. Both vehicles collided head on in the southbound lanes of travel. Melissa Cunningham was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin Co. Coroner's Office.

Mr. Simpson was airlifted to University Of Louisville Hospital with non life threatening injuries. KSP was assisted at the scene by the Radcliff Police Dept, Vine Grove Fire Department, Radcliff Fire Dept, Hardin Co. EMS, Airmethods, and the Hardin Co. Coroner's Office.

The accident is still under investigation by KSP Trooper Brandon Brooks.
