Arrest made in Second Christian Church break-in case

Columbia Police Department has made an arrest in Break Ins at local church. The arrest came on New Years Eve when Columbia Police Sgt. Jr. Murphy was investigating the break ins at the Second Christian Church, 830 Burkesville Street, Columbia, KY.


Arrested was 39-year-old Ronald Vanheck of Columbia, KY, charged with Burglary 3rd, Criminal Mischief 1st degree, Criminal Trespass , and Theft by Unlawful Taking under 500 dollars.

During the break ins the church suffered damage to the doors and side windows; as well, an undetermined amount of cash was taken from the congregation's offerings.

Vanheck was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail by CPD Sgt Murphy who was assisted by Ofc. Jamie Cole.
Issuance of warrants and/or arrests are not findings of guilt. An individual charged by police or in a warrant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.
