Mystery of the list of CAUD 'finalists' may be cleared up

About: Sharon Shields-Smock wonders why her name not on PSC list

By Ed Waggener

A reader of CM has suggested an explanation of how the list CM called 'finalists' for the current vacancy on the Columbia/Adair Utilities District (CAUD) board may have been compiled by the Kentucky Public Service Commission.

The reader wrote: "Fyi, I suspect that the eligible nominees were considered because they were nominated after the PSC order requesting nominations. Those requesting to be nominated before the order were not considered. Mr. Bryant nominated himself before and after the order."

Two excellent names - all of them are - not on the list, Sharon Shields-Smock and Rob Wilkerson, were nominated before the PSC order requesting nominations.

The PSC has been on holiday since we received the suggested reason. CM will attempt to learn more on Mon 4 Jan 2016, when the office is open - and is, incidentally the deadline for the additional information filing for those invited to do so.
