LWC's Patzold is NAIA Men's Swimmer of the Month honors

Swimmer is from Ratzeburg, Germany is the first ever Blue Raider to receive the honor

COLUMBIA, KY (Wed 16 Dec 2015) - Lindsey Wilson freshman Clemens Patzold is the NAIA Men's Swimmer of the Month.

He becomes the first Blue Raider in Lindsey Wilson men's swimming history to earn the national monthly award.



Patzold was selected for the honor based on his performances from the beginning of the 2015-16 season through December 13, 2015.

The Ratzeburg, Germany, native has competed in 36 events this year, winning 22 of them either as an individual or as a member of a relay team. Of those 36 events, Patzold has collected 34 times that qualify for national standards including 26 "A" cuts and eight national "B" standards.

In dual competitions, Patzold won 17-of-19 races he swam in while helping Lindsey Wilson to a 6-1 dual mark on the season.

Along the way, Patzold set seven new school records in various events including the 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard backstroke and 400-yard IM individual events, along with the 200-yard freestyle relay, 200-yard medley relay, 400-yard medley relay and the 800-yard freestyle relay team events. - News from Lindsey Wilson College
