Travel Advisory: SB I-65 time-saver Wed-Thu, 16-17 Dec 2015 By Chris Jessie Travel Advisory - I65 Southbound will be closed 10pm Wednesday through 6am Thursday at Mile Point 67 in Hart County for water drainage work. To avoid long delays, thru traffic is strongly encouraged to use Exit 91 (Western Kentucky Parkway westbound) to Exit 77A (William Natcher Parkway southbound) and rejoin I65 in Bowling Green, especially CMV traffic. This option results in about 20-25 minutes additional travel time under normal conditions but provides a bypass/quicker route during closures. (Please note: This should be considered an alternate route anytime a crash/roadwork creates long delays on southbound I65 between Elizabethtown and Bowling Green.) All other motorists must use Exit 76 (Upton) or Exit 71 (Bonnieville) to US 31W and rejoin I65 in Munfordville. Due to bridge work on US 31W, southbound motorists are advised NOT to use exits before 76 to access US 31W. Accessing US 31W ahead of Exit 76 will cause additional delays. Again, thru traffic should use Exit 91 and rejoin I65 in Bowling Green. This will help relieve local congestion along I65 and US 31W as well as provide a bypass/quicker route for those passing thru. Motorists choosing Exits 76 and 71 should be prepared for long delays. Please share and help spread this advisory. Overhead electronic message boards will be activated. Roadside message boards will be activated. The website www.511.ky.gov This story was posted on 2015-12-16 07:42:58
