Uberto Pruitt, 81, Metcalfe Co., KY (1934-2015)

He was a retired farmer and was named farmer of the year by the Cattleman's Association. He retired from the Kentucky Transportation Department and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a Korean War Veteran who served in the United States Army. He was the son of hte late Garnett & Gladys Shoultz Pruitt and the widower of Marjorie Pruitt. He leaves 13 direct living descendants.

Uberto Pruitt age 81 of Edmonton died Monday, December 14, 2015 at his home.

Funeral services will be held 2pmCT, Thursday, December 17, 2015, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with cremation to follow. Visitation will be from 4pmCT until 8pmCT, Wednesday and after 9:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home.



Uberto Pruitt, 81, Metcalfe Co., KY (1934-2015)


He was the son of the late Garnett and Gladys Shoultz Pruitt. He was born May 13, 1934. He died Monday, December 14, 2015, in Edmonton, Metcalfe County, KY, at the age of 81 years, seven months, and one day.

Bert was a retired farmer and was named farmer of the year by the Cattleman's Association. He retired from the Kentucky Transportation Department and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Bert was a Korean War Veteran serving in the United States Army.

He is survived by the following:
  • Three children: Rodney Pruitt and wife Lecia of Edmonton, KY; Darlene Gassaway of Edmonton, KY; Charlotte Gassaway and husband, Jerry Dale of Edmonton, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Nickie Dubree and husband, Steven; Heather Jessie and husband Josh; and Nathan Pruitt

  • Seven great grandchildren: Oakley, Rilie and Ozzy Pruitt; Payton and Camdyn Dubree; and Hudson and Leo Jessie
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marjorie; one granddaughter, Emily Robin Hurt; and a great grandson, Dustin Layne Gassaway.
