ACHS students help provide the Gift of Life

By Shamarie Harper, Media Coordinator
Adair County School District

Each year, Adair County High School Librarian, Mrs. Jenny Myers works closely with the Central Kentucky Blood Center to provide at four opportunities for her students to help their fellow Kentuckians.

This year is no different, today, Wednesday, December 8, 2015, was the second of those opportunities and once again students have stepped up and are providing the gift of life to those in need.

Personally, I think Mrs. Myers is on the right track.

If we teach our students the value and self satisfaction of giving to others now, they will continue to support important causes such as giving blood in the future.

Also, you never know when you or a family member may be the one needing blood and depending on the kindness of others.

What better way to put action to the Christmas Spirit then by doing something selfless that you know will help another human being at some point.

Way to go Mrs. Myers, and all the students who are giving of themselves today to help their fellow man.

Michaela Walker was about done giving her pint of life during the ACHS Blood Drive when I snapped this shot. She was another brave trooper with a smile from ear to ear. I think our students are some of the best in the world. They are becoming true leader! And make us all proud. - Shamarie Harper
