FAYETTE, MO - The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team suffered their second-straight loss of the season on Saturday as the Blue Raiders fell to Central Methodist (MO)) 73-69 at the CMU Classic.

The Blue Raiders fall to 3-2 on the year, losing their second tightly-contested game in a row at the classic. Lindsey Wilson previously fell to Culver-Stockton (Mo.) 84-77 on Friday night during the first day of the classic.

Lindsey Wilson led at the break 28-27 over the host Eagles (2-2), but were outscored 46-41 over the final 20 minutes in a contest that saw 16 lead changes.

Just like on Friday, the Blue Raiders shot well from the field, finishing at 45.5 percent, but once again they saw their counterparts edge their percentage with a 49.0 mark. Central Methodist also got to the free throw line 21 times, converting 19 of those attempts for 90.5 percent, while Lindsey Wilson went 11-for-14 for 78.6 percent from the charity stripe.

The back and forth affair saw Lindsey Wilson take a 45-44 lead with 12:28 to play after a basket by Wallace. But that would be the last time the Blue Raiders held the advantage as the Eagles made a pair of free throws to take the lead and never allowed Lindsey Wilson to take the advantage back. The Blue Raiders did come within two points twice during the final five minutes, even as late as 1:33 to play, but they were unable to close the gap any further as they ultimately fell by four points.

Despite shooting 22.2 percent from three-point range, the Eagles dominated the Blue Raiders in the rebounding game, grabbing 35 boards compared to Lindsey Wilson's 23.

Bryan Wallace led the scoring effort for the Blue Raiders as he recorded 22 points. Dmitry Utolin was the lone other Blue Raider in double figures with 14. Charles Sutton had a solid all-around game as he finished with eight points, seven assists and a team-best five rebounds.

Quinten Hunter was the top scorer for the Eagles as he posted 22 points while Ron Lee finished with 15 for the home side.
