Gov. Beshear Orders Flags to Half-staff Funeral for Jessamine County paramedic John Everett Mackey is Fri 13 Nov 2015 FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 12, 2015) - Governor Steve Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff Friday, Nov. 13, in honor of a Jessamine County paramedic fatally injured while on duty. John Everett Mackey, 40, died Nov. 9 after being struck by a moving vehicle while on duty. Mackey served his community for 16 years with Jessamine County EMS. He is survived by his wife, Janine; a son, James Connor; and daughters Morgan and Brianna. Visitation for Mackey is today until 8pmCT/9pmET, at Bethel Harvest Church, 3260 Lexington Road, Nicholasville, KY. The funeral is 1pmCT/2pmET Friday also at Bethel Harvest Church. Gov. Beshear encourages individuals, businesses, organizations and government agencies to join in the flag-lowering tribute.
