Tex Ritter survived perils at Swan Theatre, in Edmonton, KY

By Linda Waggener

My mom, Geniece Marcum and I saw a photo from the one-time Swan Theatre in Edmonton while visiting Ma's Deli on Greensburg Road, Edmonton, KY. I had never heard of it, but Mom remembers going here with her mother and teenage brother Russell Leftwich in the 30s.

Russell had insisted they go to see a Tex Ritter movie. Geniece said her mother, Addie Turner Leftwich, squealed each time the cowboy was in danger, but Russell reassured her the star would be alright and indeed the ending was a happy one.
