Crappie tournament set for 30-31 Oct 2015 at Lake Cumberland A pre-tournament seminar will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015, at the Holiday Inn Express in Somerset. Sign up begins at 4pmCT/5pmET. This seminar is open to the public. By Darrell Van Vector News from Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet SOMERSET, KY - Crappie USA will return to Kentucky's Lake Cumberland Oct. 30-31 with a tournament and a chance for local anglers to compete for cash, prizes and advance to the Cabela's Crappie USA Classic in 2016. The Crappie USA Tournament is part of the Kentucky Outdoor Adventure Games being held A pre-tournament seminar will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015, at the Holiday Inn Express, 50 Stevie Lynn Drive, Somerset, KY. Sign up begins at 4pmCT/5pmET. This seminar is open to the public. The tournament weigh-ins will be held on Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31, at the General Burnside Island State Park Boat Ramp, 8801 South Highway 27, Burnside, KY, beginning at 2pmCT/3pmET. This is an opportunity for non-competitors to learn how the big ones are caught. Interviews of the top five teams will be conducted after the weigh in. A kayak division where kayak anglers compete against other kayak anglers only, is new this year. Held in conjunction with the tournament will be the Crappie Kids Fishing Rodeo to be held Saturday morning at the Ruckels Pay Lake & Restaurant, 192 KY 70, Eubank, KY. Sign up for the Kids Rodeo will be at 7amCT/8amET, with the rodeo from 9am-11amET, which is a chance for children of the area to get out and enjoy nature, do a little fishing and win some prizes. The event is free to all children 12 and under with all participants eligible for a chance to win prizes. The Somerset-Pulaski County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Burnside Tourism and Kentucky Sports Authority welcome all Crappie USA anglers and their guest to the area and hope they take the opportunity to enjoy the many attractions.
